The Best Time to Go on a Mediterranean Cruise

Peak season for cruising in the Mediterranean is June to August, when the temperatures are at their highest and rain is extremely rare. There are lots of itineraries to choose form during this period, so do consider if you are looking for something very specific. It’s also great for travelling with the family, as it fits well with the school holidays. The downside of this is that ports can often be quite busy and the temperatures, during August, can be extremely hot - but nothing a quick dip in the pool or Mediterranean Sea wouldn’t solve.

The spring season, which runs from mid-April to October, offers uncrowded ports and lower rates for booking. The weather is also perfect for exploring new cities whilst docked, and attractions are more accessible. Obviously, the timing isn’t ideal for families who want to cruise with kids, but it makes for a perfect romantic getaway.

The winter season runs from late-October to mid-April. This is still a great time to visit destinations such as Mederia, Morocco, Egypt and the Canary Islands, where the temperatures remain warm, sunny and mild, without being too hot.
